We Remembered the Alamo

Brandon and I really enjoyed our anniversary get-away to San Antonio this weekend. The hotel was great and the river walk was beautiful as usual. Not to mention all the delicious food! I've often heard that San Antonio is known as one of the fattest cities in the U.S. and I totally understand why after this weekend. Everything is sooo good! We ate some wonderful seafood at Landry's overlooking the river walk on Friday night when we got in. Then Saturday had some authentic Mexican food with Brandon's cousin Brian and his wife Melissa. It was so nice seeing them and getting to visit without the interruption of our little ones. They have a 3 month old, so they were excited to get out as well. Then we walked around and to take in all that is the river walk and the block around the Alamo. Of course, we had to pose for a picture to prove we went there. We didn't actually walk through it since we have been several times before a few years back. It is always a great place to visit though. Then we stopped at another cantina and had some afternoon cocktails to finish up our visit with them. I was stuffed!

We also watched a great game Saturday night as the Spurs defeated New Orleans. We found out too that we had been missing out before on the best way to leave the AT&T Center....by taxi! Usually we just drive in from Austin for the game and then drive back the same night, so leaving there is a headache waiting in the line of cars for 20-30 minutes just to get out of the stadium. The game was over at 10:00 on Saturday and we were back at the hotel by 10:15! It was like we blinked and were magically there.

Anyway, it was a great trip and wonderful to spend one on one time with Brandon. It has been way too long!
