3 Year checkup + a 20 mo. old = Trouble

Lillian had her 3 year old check-up this morning at the doctor's office. I scheduled it at 8 am....why, I don't know! They have been sleeping lately until 7:30 or 7:45, so that meant waking them up this morning.

So after Brandon's alarm clock went off for the 100th time from his snooze, I decided to get up with him this morning at 6:45. I got dressed and came down and had my cereal. Coffee would have been nice, but I didn't have time for that. I went up and got Andrew who had decided to wake up early today...maybe he knew. I got him dressed in his crib before I even picked him up. Then we went to wake up Lillian.

Lillian pulled the covers over her head when I turned the light on. She wasn't ready to get up. Too bad, I got her up and got her shirt on as she screamed down the stairs not wanting to go potty so I could get her pants on. Finally after pretending Andrew and I were leaving her, she ran and went to the potty and I quickly threw on her pants and jacket and put a rubber band in her hair.

The kids were fine in the car eating their pop tarts and drinking their milk. And in the waiting room, they were also content. Andrew kept circling around the rooms from the well child to the sick patient area.

Then they called us back and the fun began! ha ha....Lillian threw a fit when I had to take her clothes off to put on the hospital gown. In fact, she never had it on the whole time. She just ran around in her underwear. She threw a fit and I had to hold her down just for Dr. Harvey to listen to her heart and look in her ears and mouth. Andrew was fine. He even wanted Dr. Harvey to listen to his heart. When the exam was over, it was time for shots. Lillian had one due and then I was getting each of them a flu shot. So they told me I needed to go back to the front desk to check Andrew into the system so he could get his shot.

As I was putting Lillian's pants back on to go up to the front desk, I see Andrew take off running and slip on a book and fall forward. He comes up with a bloody nose! I run out into the hallway and don't see anyone. Finally the doctor comes around the corner and she and two nurses run in and help clean him up and make sure he is okay. He screams mostly because I'm holding him down to clean him off!

Then we go and check Andrew in to get his shot. Lillian is crying because she is dressed, but doesn't have her shoes on and wants to leave. I told her we have to go back to the room and get her shoes. So we go back and they are still cleaning the blood off the floor. Then we wait 5 more minutes until they come back for the shots.

I held Andrew down first and he did fine. He just flinched. Lillian is another story. I had to hold her down as she screamed and continued to all the way out of the building. I did feel bad for her, but it was terrible leaving with her throwing her fit in the middle of the waiting room floor holding her leg saying it hurts! I'm sure any other kids coming in got scared to death about what would behold them!

We survived and hopefully will stay healthy for a long while because I definitely don't want to go back there anytime soon!

***Lillian by the way is still in the 75th percentile for height and weight...37 and 3/4th inches tall and 32.6 lbs.

Lillian's Birthday Party

Unfortunately, our plan to have Lillian's party at the park didn't work out due to rain! But she still had a fun party here at the house. There were kids everywhere playing and running around. Lillian had her playgroup friends: Caroline and Will, Natalie and Izzie, and Tyler and Audrey. Her school friends: Quinn, Lucie, Henry, Audrey, Coral, and Street and a few of their siblings. Then we had our neighbor Alexandra and our friend Emma also. Lillian loved the balloons and her Dora cake she has been talking about for months! She really enjoyed everyone singing happy birthday to her.

We went and had dinner at Chic-fil-A with Mom's good buddy Victor and his wife Debbie and their daughter Emma. It was good to catch up with them and the kids played. Lillian had a nice chicken nugget dinner!

Then we came back and Lillian opened her gifts. I have never seen her more excited about opening gifts! She just kept grabbing and opening them and I had to slow her down so I could make sure and write down who it was from. She got more ponies. She loves them! She played with them quite a while. Then she got her first Barbies and the Barbie jeep. She took them cruising around the room for a while. She also got some cute games and books and a puppy that rides in a purse! Lastly, she got the wand and cape for Princess Pea from Super Why and the doll to match. She loves that show, so she wouldn't take them off and we had to beg her to take them off to go to bed.

Lillian had a great day and finally the birthday madness comes to an end until next year! Here are some pictures and I'll upload some videos soon.

Lillian's 3rd Birthday

Because we planned her party for tomorrow afternoon, I wanted to do something special today on her real birthday. So, we stopped by HEB this morning and the kids got balloons and we picked up some cupcakes to celebrate. Lillian was just as excited as if it were her party! We sang and celebrated after their lunches. Here are some pictures and a couple of videos.

On this day, 3 years ago, our lives changed forever when I gave birth to my first child, Lillian Claire! This gorgeous little girl is such a blessing and we are so lucky to have her in our lives. Happy Birthday Lillian!

The Funk Family Reunion

We loaded up the van and set out on Friday afternoon for Louisiana for the Funk family reunion. We used to have this reunion in the summertime, but it has gotten way too hot for my Papaw to be out in that heat now, so we moved it to the weekend of he and my Mamaw's anniversary. It is 53 years as of today that we were celebrating! We had a lot of family in from all over and it was great to visit, eat, and hang out with everyone. Some of the highlights for us over the weekend was Andrew's first time staying in a motel and Lillian rode a horse for the first time. It was a long drive, but worth every mile. Great to see everyone and can't wait to do it again!

Early Birthday Partying

Lillian got to celebrate turning 3 a little early while her grandparents and aunts were here to visit since we won't see them again before her birthday. Lillian got some new dress-up clothes, little ponies, little people, and some cute new fall clothes. She was so excited! Thank you to Grandpa JD and Jamie, Grandma and Grandpa Koenning, Sherlene, and Dianne for the great gifts!

Go Bobcats

The Bobcats had a dissappointing loss this weekend, but we enjoyed the close game. We had my dad and Jamie there to visit with us and the kids. The weather was cooler and we all had a good time. And here is Andrew jamming out to the Texas State Bobcat Band!

The Kid's Weekend

I posted about my reunion this past weekend, but had a few pictures I wanted to share of the kids. We went over to the Fair on the Square in Huntsville on Saturday morning. The kids enjoyed seeing all the stuff and people and the food. And we also went and visited the horses next door to my mom's house. It was also a rainy weekend, so I got a good picture of soaked Andrew. He followed me out to my car when I was putting things in for the reunion. Enjoy:

AHS Class of 1999!

Most of you know that I just had my 10 year class reunion. I started back in June tracking down addresses and phone numbers of my classmates and then it seems that I blinked and it was time for the reunion. I'm very appreciative of the friends that helped me out with money, stamps, or by bringing items to the party. Brandon Barron, especially deserves a big thank you for hosting it at his house and preparing the delicious food.
It was so nice to see everyone and I think we all had a good time. We didn't let the rain hold us back! In some ways, it seemed like we had all still been together all these years. Some people, like Justin "Duck" Gates, surprised me with his very hyper activity. He was totally different! But I think most of us were mostly the same. I think we had about half of our class of 42 people show up. I took lots of pictures and a couple of videos. So enjoy:
