Splash Park Opens

The weather is getting hot and it is that time of year again to start the water fun!  My friend and neighbor Karen and I were talking this weekend and realized that it was almost opening day for the Splash park!  It opens here on May 1st.  So since it was a very warm day today, we decided to take the kids out after nap.  They were very excited to finally get to play in the water this year and wear their new swimsuits.  Marjorie wasn't so sure about it at first and cried when I first put her in the water, but after a while, she had fun getting wet and watching the kids run around. And so begins a season...or 2 of fun in the sun!

Happy 4th!

It is Brandon's holiday to work this year on the 4th and it also happens to be the only evening in the past 2 months that they offer the baptism class at our church to prepare for Marjorie's baptism when she is born, so we won't be really celebrating tomorrow. Also with the Texas drought, all fireworks are cancelled anyway! So today, we did a little family fun at the sprinkler park. The kids love it and it wasn't super crowded. We stopped at the grocery store on the way and got them some buckets to play in the water with. Here are my little firecrackers:

Sprinkler Park Time

We have already had a few weeks of 90-something degree weather, so we have hit up the local sprinkler park twice! I took some pictures the first time, but forgot my camera the last time. Here are a few of some kids having fun in the sun!

Fun at the Sprinkler Park

Lillian kept asking me what we were going to do this afternoon and I had planned nothing. I have just been so wiped out from the heat. She wanted to go swimming, so I told her we could go to the sprinkler park and I blinked and she was upstairs getting her swimming suit and Andrew's.

We have been to the sprinkler park only once, but it was last year and the kids were in their clothes and refused to go in the water. Today they too right to it. The 104 degrees outside made it a perfect time to go. It wasn't crowded and the kids just ran all over. We'll definitely do this again before the heat is gone. It was nice for me not having to worry about them falling in a pool and they could just run around and tire themselves out nicely! They are even in better humors this afternoon as well. This mom is happy.
