Celebrating My 100th Blog Post with the Koennings

100 posts! Can you believe it? I started this blog back in August and haven't looked back. It is amazing all the tidbits of info I have to share over the world wide web! Thank you to all my friends and family for keeping me motivated to keep posting and sharing with you.

Today, Brandon's family came in for the day to visit. We had a great meal in Hutto at the Texan Cafe....a great small town cafe that you should visit if you haven't. It even made Texas Monthly's list of best small town cafes. They have wonderful pie that is to die for!

Anyway, afterwards we came home and Dianne had brought the kids some goodies for Easter. Lillian was still a little too young to understand hunting Easter eggs last year, but this year is a pro! Dianne hid eggs all over our backyard and Lillian would have spent the whole day hunting! She loved it! I swear I'll be out there everyday this week hiding eggs! Andrew liked watching, but would rather be in the swing! Here are some pictures from today's Easter visit.

A Fun Weekend with the Cades and Happy Birthday to Me!

Brandon worked all weekend, so the kids and I went to Houston to visit my sister, Katy and her husband Clay. We really enjoyed visiting with them and my mom and two other sisters. Katy and Clay had gotten the kids a little blow-up pool for the backyard. Andrew enjoyed his first time in a pool and Lillian loved it as well. We also did some other fun things like making an Easter lamb at build-a-bear workshop, flying kites, playing at the playground, and eating at Joe's Crab Shack. Lillian also stopped Katy's local ice cream man and got a Dora ice cream. We also stopped and took pictures in the bluebonnets on the way home. Here is our weekend in pictures:

A Boy's Playdate

We played with Andrew's buddy Tyler, our nextdoor neighbor today at Old Settler's Park. It was good to see him and his mom, Karen. We usually get together with a bunch of girls, so it was a nice change. I didn't get any pictures of Lillian there, but I got her hooping in the backyard when we got home.

A Birthday Weekend

Nope, it wasn't any of our birthdays...although mine is a week from today. Lillian and Andrew had 2 friends that had birthday parties this weekend. We were very busy partying! Unfortunately I forgot my camera at the first party. It was our playgroup friend, Natalie's 3rd birthday. We had fun playing there in the bouncy house they rented and playing inside with the other kids. Lillian and Andrew both loved the hot dogs and cake too! Check the blogs on my list to the left for Irene Merkin's blog and I'm sure she'll have pictures up of that party since it was hers!

Then Sunday after church, we went to the Hoppin' Hippo in Hutto to Lillian's school friend, Coral's 2nd birthday. Lillian loved that place! She was running around checking it all out. We may have to bring her back more often there. There is an area for the parents to sit and visit or use the Internet while the kids run all around in bouncy houses and tunnels and all sorts of things. Andrew had fun at the party too, but both were pretty tired since it was close to nap time.

Who Needs a Blanket

So, I was talking on the phone to my mom this afternoon and carrying around Andrew when I walked by and saw Lillian doing this...apparently our rug is softer than I thought!

Just an Update on Us

Last Thursday, I was lucky enough to be taken out to eat by my playgroup mom friends for my birthday...early...my birthday isn't until the 23rd before ya'll all wish me a happy birthday. We decided to go ahead and celebrate while we went out this time because we didn't know if we would be able to go later in the month. It was a lot of fun. It is always nice to get out with the girls, plus we went the Cheesecake Factory, so how can you go wrong there. I was so stuffed with all the good food with a piece of their 30th anniversary cheesecake on top of that! Then we went and saw the movie, "He's Just Not That Into You." It was a good movie...not as good as I thought it would be, but still good. A nice chick flick that I'm sure Brandon is not sorry he missed.

This weekend, I had a friend's baby shower to attend in Temple. So I let Brandon rest that morning and I took the kids out on a walk and to play at the neighborhood park. Then he watched them while I went to the shower. The shower was for my friend, Trisha. We went to college together, but haven't seen each other since. We just started talking a few years ago on myspace and now facebook and became friends. She had her daughter, Landry, a year after I had Lillian and now she is having a boy a little over a year after I had Andrew, so we have that in common to talk about a lot. It was so great to see her and her growing belly! I hope we can get together more and let the kids play when she is up to it after Brady arrives. He is coming on March 31st. The picture above is me and Trisha.

Sunday was what I am calling, "Park Day." You will see why. First of all, Sunday turned out great with the time change. Since the kids are usually up at 7, they slept until about 8:15 on Sunday! We had planned it out to go eat at IHOP that morning, so Brandon got up and got dressed and got their sippy cups ready while I got them dressed and we came straight down and got in the car. We haven't been to IHOP in years, but I have been wanting to go for a while. It was great! The kids were fine and Lillian enjoyed her happy face pancake and Andrew loved his pancakes and eggs. It was also early enough to be ahead of the rush, so we got to sit and enjoy and not wait forever for a table.

On the way home, we decided to stop by Old Settler's Park. Lillian ran all around and we even slid Andrew down a few slides and of course Lillian had to go stand on the floating pier and show her daddy.

Later, after lunch and naps, we decided to go to this cool park in Georgetown. It is called the Creative Playscape in San Gabriel Park. We have only been once after I saw it in the newspaper last fall. Lillian just loved it this time! She didn't want to leave. If you haven't been to this park, I definitely recommend it. It is all wood and there are so many things to climb around on and slide. Below is a picture from online of it.

Then later after dinner, we went on another walk around the neighborhood and to the local park. So we went to 3 different parks in one day! Sadly I didn't bring my camera to any of them...I was too excited to be getting out of the house. I'm even more glad we did this all this weekend because I saw the forecast and it is going to get cold again towards the end of the week, so we'll be stuck inside again. I hope everyone else had a good weekend.

An Elaborate Untrue Story

Okay, so I know I guess I asked for it when I had my kids so close together, but I didn't think it would start so early. I was in Wal-mart the other day with both kids and as we were checking out the lady checking me out asked if my kids were twins! Now given that Andrew was sitting in the buggy seat and Lillian was standing in the buggy, she couldn't tell how much bigger Lillian was than Andrew, but I figure this will just happen more and more as Andrew catches up to Lillian...so, it got me to thinking that instead of always saying, "No, they aren't twins, they are 16 months apart and yes, it was on purpose" I could come up with an elaborate story about how yes they are twins and some thing great to go with it...help me come up with my story! Then next time I'm asked which may be in weeks, months, or a year from now, I'll post how they react to it when I tell it to them! :) Thanks!
