Baseball Fun

Lillian has really, I mean REALLY enjoyed playing baseball this year with her team! It is a big difference from last year when she was begging to go home. She still gets distracted, but has made a major improvement in her playing. She has fielded the ball several times and is doing better on her hitting as well. After one game last week, she told me, "Mom, that was the best game! I love it!" It was so cute and made me feel good that she is liking it. And that was after a loss! I do yell out to her during games to watch for the ball to help and when she makes it home after hitting and running the bases, she slides in every time! I'm happy that we picked a sport she enjoys and look forward to many more years of baseball ahead! Now to see next year of Andrew is ready!

Sliding in home!

Here is her biggest fan sitting at the game! :)

A Visit to Papaw's Farm

We were beyond due for a visit to Louisiana to visit my grandparents! Being pregnant last year and a busy fall kept us from going. So when we found out a weekend that Brandon wasn't working on a Friday, we decided to go then since it is quite a long drive with 3 kids especially. We left early that Friday morning and got there Friday afternoon. The kids love playing on the farm. Lillian and Andrew spent a lot of time gathering misc. items and playing games on the tractor. Marjorie loved swinging mostly. Katy, Clay, and Parker were able to come as well, so we visited with them too. And Marjorie and Parker had some fun playing and taking a bath together. They were so funny to watch as they laughed and laughed at each other in the tub. My mom also made the trip, so we had a good chance to catch up with Mamaw and Papaw and her.

On the way home, we found an awesome bluebonnet picture spot outside of Hearne, TX where I got the kids picture! I was so glad to get that too!

Kindergarten Round-up

Tuesday, I walked the halls of Forest Creek Elementary School for the first of I'm sure many many times. They held Kindergarten round-up for the fall to get the kids registered. I registered Lillian fairly quickly and turned in her documentation. Then was lead around the school by 2 5th graders giving tours. I was very impressed that the school had 2 art rooms and art teachers as well as 2 music rooms. When lots of schools are cutting back on this area lately, it is refreshing to see schools still putting an emphasis on the arts. Everyone seemed friendly and ready to help. I saw 2 different friend's kids too and one came up to give me a hug.

After Lillian and Andrew got out of preschool at 1, we swung by the school again so Lillian could walk around and she was so excited to see it. Her friend, Quinn was touring at that time too, so they stuck together and ran around looking at everything. Now the only problem is that Lillian thinks it is only a week until she starts Kindergarten and asks all the time. She is very ready. I just don't know if this momma is ready. As a Kindergarten teacher, I used to laugh about parents crying on the first day, but I may very well be that mom! It is so sad to see her growing up so quickly. I'll definitely miss having her home with me as much. And I know Andrew will miss her very much too! I don't think he'll know what to do without Lillian home to bug. We'll see!

Round Rock's Park for All Abilities

A friend told me about Round Rock's new park for all abilities and how much her kids loved it. It just opened this past weekend, so when we decided to go to the park today, we thought we would try it out. It is awesome! It is a huge playground fenced in with even a small version of a town with an HEB, car dealership, fire station, hospital, and school. Plus it has an awesome playscape and sandpit area. The kids fell in love immediately. We will be going back soon for sure. I put Marjorie's feet in the sand for the first time there and she just giggled loving it.

swinging 7 months.MPG

This was a few weeks ago at the park, but just emptied my camera for the month and found it and wanted to share. She loves swinging! She is so ready to be able to play at the park more with all the other kids, but loves watching them at least!

Phillies Baseball begins

Baseball season has begun again! Lillian is a Phillie this year and had her first game this past Saturday morning. Although she is still learning, she seems to be doing much better than last year already. Grandpa JD and Jamie came in for the weekend to visit and see her play. After a rough start because she had to spend the first inning on the bench and didn't understand why, she finally got to hit the ball and she was happy and excited after that. She had her second game last night and she even fielded a ball and threw it to the base she was supposed to. I'm looking forward to seeing how she improves over the season.

The kids were happy to have Grandpa and Jamie visiting. They especially loved playing with Grandpa for a while, while Jamie, Marjorie, and I went to the fabric store looking for fabric for her to make me new curtains for my front window. I'm excited! We found some with colors that will look perfect in there. Thanks, Jamie for doing this for me!

After Grandpa and Jamie left on Sunday, we had a short amount of time before we had to be at Lillian's baseball opening ceremony. It was held at the Dell Diamond. Lillian got to walk out on the field with her team and then we watched a player throw out the opening pitch to the Round Rock Express mascot, Spike. It was a busy weekend.
