Our Thanksgiving

I hope that everyone had a great "Turkey Day!" We spent the day in Shiner with Brandon's family. The kids always enjoy spending time with and being spoiled by everyone there. Lillian enjoyed her first piece of pumpkin pie and of course wouldn't use a fork. She just picked it up and ate it...there was pumpkin all over her face and hands and when she was done, we cleaned her up and she went and played for maybe a minute and then came back and ate more getting it all over her again! Oh the joys of motherhood! :) The kids love playing outside on the farm there too and I got some cute pictures of Andrew and Daddy playing in the grass.

Meeting with Santa

I bravely took both kids into the mall with me today to meet Santa. Andrew was wondering who in the world this guy was with all that white hair on his face.

Notice anyone missing? Yep, Lillian threw a fit and wouldn't go near him, so she stuck close to the stroller...so much for my idea of a cute picture of my kids with Santa...at least I did get Andrew's!

Fun Weekend

We all had a fun weekend! We left Saturday morning heading to East Texas where my Mom and sister, Katy and her husband Clay met us in Crockett. They took the kids on in our van to my Mom's house while Brandon and I took Mom's car to Huntsville. We got to witness a really good game between Texas State and Sam Houston. It was back and forth the whole time and after a nail-biting overtime, the Bobcats won! The Texas State Bobcats are the Southland Conference Champions and are headed to the playoffs. It was really nice being able to watch the game without the kids for once and just get away on our own. We even had dinner there before we left. That doesn't happen very often. I'm so glad Mom was able to watch them for us.

While we were at the game, Lillian and Andrew kept Mom, Katy, and Clay busy. They were playing all afternoon! Lillian loves her new "Ho, Ho, Ho" book from Grandma. Tory came late that evening and so we got to meet her puppy, Eli for the first time. Lillian loves Eli! She wanted to hold him all the time, but poor Eli is scared of Lillian since she does hold him a little roughly. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Lillian's 2 year old School Pictures

I just scanned and added Lillian's school pictures to her website if you want to check them out. They turned out really cute. The link is on the left side of my blog.

Andrew is 9 months!

Go to Andrew's website...there is a link on the left of my blog page. I updated his growth chart. He is now in the 75 percentile for weight and the 45 percentile for height and not listed is his head...finally in the 55 percentile after always being 20 and below. I also wrote a new journal entry and added new photos to his 9th month album and to his 9 months old today album. Enjoy!

1sts for Andrew

Andrew is growing and growing and although he still refuses to crawl, he has had a few firsts for the past couple of weeks. The first one is using a sippy cup! He kept grabbing and grabbing for Lillians lately, so last week, I put some water in a small one and he took straight to it! He wants it with each meal now and loves it! I was surprised because Lillian didn't really like them at first.

The other first is riding in his "big boy" car seat. I have been waiting on putting him in it because we had put it in Brandon's truck as a spare for just taking Lillian around and he still fit in his infant seat, so I just waited. Well, he is getting really big now and I decided it was time to move on. Wal-Mart had baby week last week and carseats were on sale, so I bought an extra one so we could keep on in Brandon's truck. This weekend, Andrew rode for the first time in his new seat and has done fine. He has slept in it several times already!

Just Being Kids

I caught my babies in the act these past couple of days doing things I remember doing as a small child. Andrew is so upset about not crawling, he is trying to get into things in other ways...I caught him in his walker, pulling pans out of an open cabinet! He was determined and pulled a metal bowl out to bang around. Lillian has started putting on our shoes and walking around like she is an adult! These are the fun things about being around them so much and seeing them just being kids.

We went to the gym and then to Old Navy this morning and I actually got a picture of them together before we left when I sat Andrew by Lillian so I could put on my shoes. That is a rare occasion as Lillian usually runs away as soon as I put Andrew by her. I also have a picture of Lillian's new favorite ball she had to have at Old Navy. She brought me the camera still out from this morning wanting me to take a picture of her with it! :)

Tricks, Treats, and Races

What a busy, but fun weekend! We started it out with Halloween on Friday. Andrew didn't really appreciate his first Halloween, but he looked so cute as my little scarecrow! He didn't understand why he was late for his bath and bedtime as we walked the neighborhood trick-or-treating, but he got some ooohs and ahhs from the people we saw. I'm sure he'll enjoy it more next year!

I think Lillian has found her new favorite holiday! When we got outside to take pictures, she would not wear her witch hat and just threw it in the yard, but once we got going and she realized wearing it meant she got to go get candy...she would stop and wait for it to get put back on before she would proceed any further down the sidewalk. Lillian didn't understand at first about the whole trick-or-treating process. The first few houses, she walked right into and started looking around. We had to show her that they were bringing her candy a few times before she got it. After that, she was helping herself to candy at each house. The funny thing is that the adults outnumbered the kids. My mom and 2 of my sisters walked with us to take the kids. It was fun though. Lillian's poor teeth were so gross that night after eating the candy! Then yesterday, she wanted to put her costume on again and kept telling us..."Get Candy!" and went to the door wanting to do it again! I'm hiding that costume now!

Our next big event for the weekend was the Race for the Cure! My sisters and I have been training for this for a month and raising money. We all got up around 5:30 this morning and left about 6:20 to get downtown to get a parking spot. Good thing, too, because right after we parked, the lot where we were was full! The whole atmosphere of the event was so awesome! Everyone was so excited and pumped. There were thousands of people...they said about 21,000 all there supporting the fight against breast cancer. My sisters, Katy, Tory, and Molly, and I ran the timed race while Brandon, my Mom, and Clay went in the un-timed with the kids. It felt so awesome to be running through downtown with all the other people so excited to be there and cheerleaders and others were on each block as you passed to cheer you on. I ran harder than I have been and finished with a time of 28 minutes and 37 seconds. I'm very proud of that. I finished 67th out of 266 in my age division. Here are some pictures from before and after the race....don't have one of me in it yet. I'm waiting on it to be emailed to me from the race photographer.
